“In World Cinema Club children have the opportunity to explore stories, tales and legends from around the globe, from Russian folk tales to Chinese History, German fairy tales to Native American legends. Every week the children sample some of the focus country’s cuisine too.

Construction club is led by our Year 2 teacher Lisa Lymath.
Each week the children can explore, create and build their own designs using a variety of construction toys such as Lego and Knex. The children can choose to work alone, in pairs or in groups.
Some weeks there are specific challenges for the children. An example is that I gave each of them 15 straws, a pair of scissors and a roll of masking tape and they had to design and construct a bridge strong and wide enough to hold 3 toy cars!
The club has a relaxed but exciting atmosphere and the children are constantly discussing and suggesting ideas together.
In the Primary Art Club, run by Hayley Copplestone, we explore various areas of art, including, painting, colour mixing, drawing, pottery and craft.
Pupils learn to appreciate the artwork of famous artists such as: Wassily Kandinsky, Jackson Pollock and Georges Seurat. After exploring their techniques, we then create our own pieces of artwork using their technique and style. Each child is encouraged to be creative and once done, we celebrate our wonderful works of art!
Our Eco-Gardening club has developed a beautiful and bountiful garden!
This year our young, intrepid gardeners have fought off uncooperative weather, pheasants and more than a few of the plump snails and slugs who lurk furtively awaiting juicy morsels.
It was so exciting to watch the apple trees the pupils planted last year grow and produce their first crop.
We are now in the process of building a rockery and have a wildflower patch to encourage the bees and wildlife, plus a bug-house which we made which we wish the snails and slugs would live in!!
We call ourselves the Eco Warriors!
