World Mental Health Day: Wednesday, 10th October 2018

In support of World Mental Health day last Wednesday 10th October, parents, carers, pupils and staff joined together to mediate – Scientific studies into Transcendental Meditation (TM) has proven that it significantly reduces stress in the physiology and supports good mental health. Following our group meditation, we shared breakfast at the primary phase.
After school parents, carers, pupils and staff went for a walk and talk in the woods close to our secondary phase – One of the most important things we can do to help break the stigma surrounding mental health, and to support ourselves, or those we care about, if suffering with mental health, is to talk openly.
To raise awareness of mental health issues, the charity Young Minds asked people to wear yellow. By wearing yellow we wanted to show people that they’re not alone when it comes to their mental health.
Pupils also raised funds for Young Minds by donating £1.00 and wearing yellow to school, the total raised was £147.15 which we gave to Young Minds.
