The Volunteering requirement of the Duke of Edinburgh Award is all about making a difference to other people’s lives. It’s about choosing to give time to help people, the community or society, the environment or animals. It can be fun and rewarding to take time out and make change for the better.
As part of their volunteering requirement for their Duke of Edinburgh award, Year 9 have been planting Hawthorn hedges at the Beacon Country Park. This is a project with real benefit to our local environment and it creates a natural habitat for nature now and in years to come.
