World Book Day 2017

World Book Day is Thursday 2nd March. We would like to celebrate the day by asking the children if they would like to dress up as a character from a book they enjoy. If your child could bring in £1 to dress up then this will be donated to Book Aid International, helping to send beautiful brand new books to children in Africa.

The children are also encouraged to bring in a book that they love for the day. We will do some activities related to their books and to promote reading.

In addition, after half term we will send you a £1 World Book Day Book Token for your child to exchange for one of ten exclusive £1 World Book Day Books (or, if they prefer, £1 off any book or audio book worth £2.99 or more). Thousands of booksellers all over the UK are participating in the scheme; you can find your local bookshop at http://www.booksellers.org.uk/Trade-Events/WBD-Search.aspx?cat=CAT_4

The tokens are valid between the 27th February and 26th March so make sure you use yours before the deadline! The tokens are sponsored by the generosity of National Book Tokens.

Happy reading!
